Michael J. Hefferon began his career with two life insurance carriers in product development and distribution roles.
Hefferon formed Bufkin, Hefferon &Siegel, Inc. a New York City based Brokerage Agency in 1988, which merged with Ash Brokerage in 2006. As a Principal at Ash Brokerage, Hefferon served as Co- President of the firm and was responsible for the sales and distribution strategy of the life insurance, annuity and long term care businesses. In December, 2011 he sold his interest in Ash Brokerage.
Hefferon served as President of Brokerage Resources of America from2002-2010. In 2011 he was named Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. BRAMCO was one of the largest Independent Marketing Organizations in the United States and a leading distributor for many insurance carriers that focus on independent distribution.
In January, 2020 BRAMCO merged with Lifemark Partners to form LIBRA Insurance Partners. Hefferon currently serves as Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Financial Officer of LIBRA. LIBRA, a 60 firm IMO, is the largest independently owned life insurance distributor and places over 425 million of target life insurance premium annually.
A principle focus of LIBRA is developing productive and mutually profitable relationships with their carrier partners and providing their firms with unique resources necessary to add value to financial services professionals.
A graduate of St Bonaventure University with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Accounting, Hefferon and his wife Judi live in Jupiter, FL and have four adult sons
